The Big Question

Big Question: Should College Athletes Be Able To Unionize?

The National Labor Relations Board dismissed a petition last month by Northwestern University football players seeking to unionize.  The athletes insisted they were university employees and should be allowed to collectively bargain.  The board punted on whether the players were employees, but said the novelty of the petition and the potential of widespread effects on college sports would have led to instability in labor relations.  Do you think college athletes should be allowed to form a union?
