Host Ruthanne Bessman plays listener's classical requests and also features several special shows, such as the annual Oscars show and several kids' programs.
Listeners can submit their requests online or call in during the show. "Classics by Request" can be heard on the NPR News and Classical network Fridays from 9 to 11 a.m.
