Paul Ryan Kicks Off Series Of Town Hall Meetings In His District

U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Janesville, kicked off a series of town hall meetings in his southern Wisconsin district on Tuesday.

Ryan got a warm welcome in North Prairie in the morning when he spoke about reducing the national debt and promoting oil drilling on federal land. But in Franklin in the afternoon, Ryan got an earful from immigration advocates who urged him to be a leader and get a bill passed in Washington.

Ryan said House Republicans are still working on seeing what members will support. Ryan also addressed his comments last week about men in inner cities not thinking about working. He said he supports all people, both urban and rural, in getting out of poverty.
