Madison Co-op Closes It’s Doors

A store front food co-op that is an icon of sixties counter culture in Madison is closing its doors for the last time today. The Mifflin Street Co-op weathered some of the most violent anti-war riots in the country and opened one of the first free medical clinics in the city. But after years of red ink, it succumbed this week to anti capitalist book keeping and a changing downtown business culture. Gil Halsted reports…
