Last year’s tragic murders of six deer hunters in Sawyer County has overshadowed concerns about chronic wasting disease as hunters prepare for the traditional nine day gun deer season this weekend.But at least in southern Wisconsin the state’s efforts to stop the spread of CWD in the deer herd continues to be a thorny issue.
