We’re all too familiar with the downside of higher gas prices.But there is at least one upside, and a pretty significant one. Because motorists in Wisconsin drove 1.1 billion fewer miles in the first six months of this year, carbon dioxide emissions went down by four percent from January through June.

Wisconsin could potentially produce almost 1.2 million fewer tons of CO2 this year.Terry Bell talked about it with Steve Hinnicker, head of the environmental group “One Thousand Friends of Wisconsin”…
