Angel

My favorite family dog was Angel, short for Angelitta.  We had her from when I was little until I was about 14 years old.  I’m now 18.  She was perfect because she was good with kids, other dogs, and was super friendly.

Angel was a Cocker Spaniel, crossed with a Poodle, crossed with a Shih tzu.  That combination made her super cuddly and soft, and she didn't shed. She was perfect for sleeping on beds and was really easy to house break.

One funny thing I remember is that, because of her fluffy fur, she had to be completely shaved every 1-2 months.  They would always tie a pink bow in her hair – she looked so funny.  It was so much fun to pet her after she got shaved.  It was like having a walking velour pillow. 

Out of the 5 dogs my family has had, she was my favorite.  When my dad first brought her to the house from a family in Indiana, I was up from bed that morning and the first to see her.  She could fit in the palm of your hand and was a white ball of fur. She was 8-9 years old when she had to be put down from cancer. 

Angelitta means little angel in Spanish, and she truly was a little angel.
