Kristy Deetz received her MFA in painting and drawing in 1984 from Ohio State University, and is currently a Professor in Arts and Visual Design at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay. She has taught painting and drawing at a number of universities and art schools over the past twenty-five years. Deetz frequently gives encaustic painting workshops at art centers such as Anderson Ranch Arts Center (Snowmass, Colorado), OxBow (Saugatuck, Michigan), Haystack (Deer Isle, Maine), and Penland School (Penland, North Carolina). Her extensive exhibition record includes competitive, invitational, and solo exhibitions throughout the United States.
