Blake Selzer is a Senior Policy Advocate for CARE USA. CARE is a leading humanitarian organization fighting root causes of poverty. Working in over 70 countries, CARE helps the world’s poorest communities get the tools, knowledge, and other resources they need to solve problems and change their lives for good. As Senior Policy Advocate, Blake helps develop and implement advocacy strategy on CARE USA’s priority issues towards the US government. Blake works primarily on global food security, humanitarian assistance, and budget/appropriations issues.
Before joining CARE, Blake worked for the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) for seven years, first as a Legislative Associate, specializing on appropriations, and then as Legislative Director.
Prior to his work at NPCA, Blake spent four years on Capitol Hill, working in the U.S. House of Representatives for Representative Capps (D-CA) as a legislative assistant.
Blake received his Master’s degree in Public Policy from New York University and his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
