Jonathon Overby - Higher Ground

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER AND HOST OF
HIGHER GROUND WITH JONATHAN OVERBY

Jonathan Overby is the executive producer and host of Higher Ground with Jonathan Overby. Originally from Milwaukee, Overby is a concert soloist and song stylist perhaps best known for his powerful and stirring rendition of the National Anthem, which he performs throughout the United States.

He held the post of music director for Madison Campus Ministry at UW Madison from 1987-94. From 1989-94 he served as Artist in Residence at Edgewood College in Madison, where he conducted both the College Chorale, and Community Choir. In 1991, the Governor of Wisconsin appointed Overby to the State Arts Board on which he continues to serve. His Wisconsin production honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., now in its 20th year, is the oldest state celebration in the nation.

His endeavors include both stage and concert productions that illuminate the African-American experience in music and drama. His concert work spans more than 20 years of performance.
