Two former high-ranking Wisconsin officials said on Friday that they’re hopeful about their party’s chances of winning next year’s gubernatorial election.
According to a poll released Tuesday by the Democratic firm, Public Policy Polling, 48 percent of those surveyed approve of Gov. Scott Walker’s job performance while 49 percent disapprove.
Walker also leads four potential Democratic challengers: 48 percent to 42 percent over former Trek Bicycle executive Mary Burke; 47 percent to 43 percent over Assembly Minority Leader Peter Barca; 47 percent to 41 percent over state Sen. Kathleen Vinehout; and 47 percent to 40 percent over Outagamie County Executive (and former Assembly Majority Leader) Tom Nelson....
