Governor Scott Walker hinted yesterday that he'll call for an income tax cut that gets phased in over time.Walker told the Wisconsin Bankers Association that he viewed an individual income tax as "one of the biggest bangs for our buck" that would help businesses put more people to work.

He implied that the tax cut could increase as the economy grows.

"For us, we think as we continue to see more economic growth, we'd like to plow that in to continue lowering the cost both of doing business for small businesses as well as lowering the tax burden for middle-class taxpayers, particularly in the State of Wisconsin," he says.

Walker said he'd talk more about the tax cut in his State of the State address next week and would include all the details in his budget proposal next month.
