Among the guests in the gallery for yesterday's inaguration of the new state legislature was Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Preibus.Preibus is a longtime friend of Burlington Republican Robin Vos, who was sworn in as Speaker yesterday. Preibus says he and Vos met in high school when they worked together on Republican campaigns. They went on to attend college together. Preibus says that of all the states he watches around the country, Wisconsin holds a special place for Republicans. "I think that the Republicans here in Wisconsin have really shown the way as far as how to win in a tough environment," he says. "How to appeal to both Republicans and Democrats while sticking true to your principles." Preibus and Vos know the Wisconsin legislature well. They both held jobs as legislative aides.
