WISCONSIN APPLE HARVEST MIXED WPR News - Wisconsin Apple Harvest Mixed

This year's apple harvest is a tough one in Wisconsin, where some orchards are reporting crop losses of 80 percent or more.  That's the result of early spring-like weather, followed by a freeze, and then a long summer drought.

But there are some bright spots, and one of them is Gays Mills, where they're celebrating the 54th annual Apple Festival this weekend.

Allen Teach is one of the owners of Sunrise Orchards.  He spoke with WPR's Terry Bell about this year's crop.
