HANK AARON TALKS LANGSTON HUGHES AND OBAMA WPR News - Hank Aaron talks Langston Hughes and Obama
Monday May 21, 2012 by Chuck Quirmbach
Baseball Hall of Famer Hank Aaron was in Milwaukee over the weekend, promoting hope for the future and saying nice things about President Obama. The former Milwaukee Braves and Brewers star gave the commencement address Sunday (5/20) at Marquette University. Aaron told the graduates to believe in their dreams. He says he grew up in Alabama dreaming of playing Major League Baseball, and says the effort was difficult even after Jackie Robinson broke baseball's color line. In interviews Saturday, Aaron spoke briefly about the U.S.'s first African-American President Barack Obama. Aaron says he thinks the president is doing a great job. Aaron declined to comment on Wisconsin's gubernatorial recall race, other than to say he thinks voters will do the right thing.
