Ho Chunk Gather Up Prized Bison Herd
12/31/08

Many ranching operations round up their cattle herds in the winter, and the Ho Chunk Nation is no exception. Every year, a group of volunteers brave the cold to round-up the tribe’s bison herd in the Richland County town of Eagle. Using trucks, bullhorns, and cattle prods, they run the huge, burly animals through a penned-in trail called “The Alley”, which leads to several chutes where the bison are weighed, inoculated, and tagged with microchips for tracking.

GM Union Members Have Regrets, Hopes for Janesville Plant

In 1937 workers at General Motors plant in Janesville joined their union comrades in Detroit and held a sit-down strike that resulted in the birth of the United Auto Workers Union. US Sailor’s Remains Going Home Nearly 70 Years Later
