The University of Wisconsin System officially has a new boss. The UW Board of Regents approved Kevin Reilly as the next president of the UW system. For many people in Wisconsin, summer means baseball. There used to be a lot of minor league teams in Wisconsin, dotting the map for Eau Claire to Kenosha. Today, there are only two major-league affiliated teams in Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in Appleton and the Snappers in Beloit. The rest of them moved to other cities in the upper Midwest, lured by bigger crowds and better facilities. But in Wisconsin ballparks where minor league crowds were sparse, capacity crowds are embracing a fairly new amateur league with surpassing passion. Terry Bell reports...
