The number of gun-related killings in Wisconsin for the year currently stands at 106 killings after two fatal shootings in Milwaukee and another in Racine this week.

Meanwhile, Milwaukee’s police chief said his city is inundated with illegal guns.

Police say Tracolli Surveyor, a 17-year-old African-American boy, was shot to death on Wednesday afternoon during a street altercation with another male. Alonna Thomas, a 23-year-old African-American woman, was fatally shot on Tuesday during a fight.

On Thursday, Milwaukee Police Chief Ed Flynn told the news media that stopping the shootings in the city remain a challenge.

“This city’s police department has already confiscated from criminals nearly as many guns as New York City has. New York City has more than 10 times as many people than we do,” he said.

Police said that Maurice Carter, a 41-year-old Chicago man, was killed by gunfire in Racine on Thursday night.
