Antetokounmpo Says It's Exciting For South Africa

A Milwaukee Bucks player is participating in the first-ever NBA game in Africa this Saturday.

Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo joins Team Africa along with nine other first and second-generation African players. They will play against a team of NBA players from the rest of the world.

Antetokoumpo was born in Greece to Nigerian parents. He said this game means a lot not, only for the NBA to expand its global image, but also for Africa.

“I can see like how excited all the people like it in South Africa, are for this game,” he said. “It means a lot in order to for moving forward — for making these games here for moving forward. It’s a lot of people here to see how the NBA works and for a lot of kids here to be able to be here.”

This NBA Africa game will air live on Saturday at 8 a.m. CST on ESPN.
