Inside Islam Series

A winner of the 2009 Brass Crescent Awards, Inside Islam: Dialogues and Debates is a new-media initiative that seeks to challenge misconceptions and stereotypical perceptions about Islam and Muslims worldwide through a collaboration between UW-Madison’s nine area and international studies centers, Wisconsin Public Radio, and the public. We welcome your comments which we may air during our mail bag segment. You can leave your comments on Inside Islam or our hotline 1-877-GLOBE-07, +1-608-890-0269.

The next program in the series is Islam and Science to be aired in February. What do algebra, algorithms, and eyeglasses have in common? All of them were developed by medieval Muslims. The Islamic empire and its scientists were once at the forefront of scientific development. Why was there a decline in the Muslim world after a glorious past? Can science be a place for interfaith dialogues? Join us to explore the past, present and future of the role of science in the Muslim world. Please leave your comments here or on our hotline, and we may use them on air.
