A Semester At Sea

Established in 1963, Semester at Sea is the only study-abroad program of its kind in the world. On a ship that becomes a traveling campus, a community of faculty and students live and learn together, exploring a different world region every semester.

  • James Huffman, former professor of East Asian history at Wittenberg University. He now teaches East Asian History as part of the Semester at Sea program
  • Lauren Hobbs, was a student on a recent SAS voyage. She is currently enrolled at the University of Virginia
