From Witnessing to Solidarity
JANUARY 21, 2010 THURSDAY AT 3PM CT

As the reality of last week's earthquake in Haiti sinks in, we take the time to talk about how hard it is just to watch. Scholars and teachers of witnessing join us to talk us through the practice of witnessing, pointing out both the pitfalls and the positive outcomes that can come through witnessing the suffering of others, even from afar.

Guest
  • Kaethe Weingarten, Associate Clinical Professor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School, founder and director of the Witnessing Project
  • Carrie Rentschler, Assistant Professor of Communication at McGill University
