International Women's Day: Fundamentalism and Women's Rights

This hour on Here on Earth: Radio Without Borders, Jean Feraca and her guests talk about fundamentalism and women's rights.

Shareen Gokal will be in Madison, Wisconsin, at the invitation of the International Peace Council on March 8, in honor of International Women's Day, at the Concourse Hotel, 5:00 to 9:00pm. Her keynote speech is "Challenging Religious Fundamentalisms in the Twentieth Century - A Perspective from a Women's Rights Activist." International Women's Day Feature: Malalai Joya and Local Women "Afghan Women's Resistance to War and Fundamentalism."

Celebrate International Women's Day with Afghan parliamentarian and noted women's rights activist Malalai Joya. This International Women's Day celebration will also include spoken word performances by Katrina Flores and Tracie Gilbert, and music and dancing by the Omulu Capoeira Group.
