The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and National Weather Service issued a “Red Flag Warning” for 39 counties across Wisconsin Wednesday, scheduled to end at 8 p.m.

Catherine Koele, a wildfire prevention specialist, said a “Red Flag Warning” is issued when fire conditions are extreme.

“It just means that fire conditions are extreme due to low humidity, warm temperatures, high winds. And our fuel conditions are really, really dry,” she said.
