The leader of Wisconsin Democrats spoke out against Donald Trump and running mate Mike Pence’s economic policies Thursday.

A few hours before GOP vice presidential nominee Mike Pence was scheduled to speak in LaCrosse, Wisconsin Democratic Party Chair Martha Laning called out the Indiana governor for economic policies she believes favor the wealthy over the working class.

“There is one thing that is perfectly clear to me: Wisconsin households just can’t afford to buy what Mike Pence is trying to sell to us today,” Laning said.

In her criticism, Laning also echoed a riff on Trump’s reality show days made by Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine in his campaign stop in Milwaukee last week.

“The choice we see this election is clear: do voters want a ‘You’re hired’ president or do they want a ‘You’re fired’ president?” she said.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker plans to attend a Pence rally in Milwaukee after he skipped a Donald Trump campaign stop last week. Pence mentioned at his earlier stop in La Crosse that he was going to see Walker in Milwaukee.

Walker showed up the last time Pence was in the state two weeks ago in Waukesha. But Walker skipped the Trump rally in Green Bay, opting to instead attend an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner 250 miles away.

Walker has been tepid in his support of Trump, especially after Trump initially refused to endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan for re-election. Walker has been more openly supportive of Pence, the Indiana governor.
