POSITION SUMMARY
The Corporate Development Representative (Sales Account Executive) is responsible for securing financial support from the corporate community for Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) programming and other related activities. This fundraising professional works primarily with the business community and foundations. Reports to the Eastern Territory Manager.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, research and solicit clients for financial support. Cultivate immediate and long term prospects. Generate and track client prospects including interests, budgeting cycle, marketing objectives, historical associations with WPR, philanthropic activities and corporate financial performance. Secure immediate funding commitments and long term client relationships. Identify opportunities for enhanced corporate funding from current clients.
- Develop proposals using qualitative and quantitative audience research. Make presentations, meet with clients, write contracts and on-air copy in compliance with WPR and FCC policies and regulations.
- Provide corporate clients and prospects with on-going service and communication to enhance relationships.
- Contribute actively as key team member of the underwriting staff to achieve department goals. Consistently meet quarterly and annual revenue goals as assigned.
- Participate in WPR development efforts. Represent WPR to community at large including community events, trade organizations, service clubs, etc.
- Effectively engage diverse perspectives and experiences in work product and in organizational interactions, including communication and decision-making.
- Organize and maintain client records utilizing contact management software.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Persuasive in oral and written communications with wide range of corporate clients and other contacts
- Ability to analyze data and make judgments based on data
- Travel to conduct site visits and meet with underwriters and potential underwriters
- Computer skills including familiarity and comfort using contact management software.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Two years or more of successful professional experience setting and meeting goals in a client service, sales or marketing intensive environment. Minimum of 3-5 years for intermediate.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, develop presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to make sales or request financial support
- Established professional resilience.
- General computer proficiency. Ability to learn new software applications.
- Means of transportation to travel to appointments outside the bureau office.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively engage diverse perspectives and experiences in work product and in organizational interactions.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of public broadcasting and public broadcasting sales.
- Commercial radio sales experience.
- Familiarity with Wisconsin-based and territory-specific businesses desirable.
SALARY: The minimum for this position is $36,500 ($41,750 at intermediate level) with actual pay proportional to qualifications and experience and official title.
