Wisconsin Public Radio is pleased to welcome Peter Bryant as program director for the NPR News and Classical Music Network; a new position for both Bryant and WPR.
Bryant has extensive experience as a music producer, host and station manager. He spent several years as music director at WHYY, a public radio station in Philadelphia. Prior to his move to Wisconsin, Bryant worked as station manager and program director at WKU based at Western Kentucky University, his home state.
“I am thrilled to welcome Peter to WPR. His background in classical music and experience programming news/talk radio will greatly benefit WPR and our listeners,” said WPR director Mike Crane.
In addition to his time in the public radio industry, Bryant worked in radio research and commercial radio, producing programs for national, and international, distribution.“I’ve been very impressed by how passionate the staff and community are about public radio—it’s inspiring to be able to join such and outstanding operation,” said Bryant.
Family ties also piqued Bryant’s interest in joining WPR. His father-in-law is Bill Siemering, a Madison, Wis., native who worked at WHA as a student and later served as NPR’s first Director of Programming.
