The Wisconsin Assembly wrapped up work around dawn Wednesday morning on a state budget that would spend about 54-billion dollars over the next two years.Most of the marathon session was spent debating Democratic plans to restore funding proposed by Governor Jim Doyle. Nearly every one of those ideas was rejected.
Majority Republicans approved a spending blueprint that would cut taxes on gasoline and social security benefits.It would also boost state school aid by more than 450-million dollars… which is less than half what the Governor proposed.Shawn Johnson reports…
