Dean Kallenbach Named Senior Regional Manager
Dean Kallenbach of Eau Claire has been named senior regional manger for Wisconsin Public Radio.  The appointment was announced on November 15.

Dean will continue to serve as regional manager of WPR's west-central district, overseeing the operation of 88.3 WHWC-FM / Menomonie-Eau Claire and 90.7 WVSS-FM / Menomonie, and serving as the liaison with affiliate stations 88.7 WRFW-FM / River Falls and 89.7 WUEC-FM / Eau Claire.

"In addition to his current duties in the regional bureau, Dean will supervise and coordinate the activities of the seven-member regional management team, and serve as a member of my senior management team," said director of radio Phil Corriveau.  "He will also develop and oversee implementation of WPR's community relations and outreach strategy, as well as our internal communication strategy."

Phil said that strengthening the regional bureaus is an important part of his vision for Wisconsin Public Radio.  "I'm confident that Dean will play a key role in achieving that goal. Dean is an 18-year WPR veteran.  His skill and dedication have been instrumental to the success of Wisconsin Public Radio as a true statewide organization."

Dean started with Wisconsin Public Radio in 1986 as morning host and reporter in the Menomonie bureau.  He was promoted to regional manager in 1990 just before the bureau moved to its new facilities in Eau Claire. He served as interim associate director in Madison from January through September 2004 during a transition of leadership at the network.

"The placement of a regional manager on Phil's senior management team is a testament to the value he places on our activities and interactions with listeners throughout the state," said Dean.  "I'm thrilled at this new opportunity to work with the outstanding staff, members, and listeners in our seven regions to further the mission of Wisconsin Public Radio."
