The Jim Cullum Jazz Band, stars of the
acclaimed jazz show Riverwalk, Live
From The Landing, will present a
concert on Sunday, November 14, in Middleton.
The concert will be held at the Marriott
Madison West, 1313 John Q. Hammons Drive, Middleton (just
outside Madison), from 3-6 p.m. (doors open at 2 p.m. and the
concert hall is smoke free). The event is co-sponsored by the
Madison Jazz Society and Wisconsin Public Radio.
Riverwalk is
broadcast on the NPR News & Classical Music stations
Saturdays at 9:00 p.m.
After over forty years of performance,
hard work, and fun, the Jim Cullum Jazz Band has made inroads
into the major concert halls with great traditional jazz.
Cullum said, We are all proud of the music we play and
enjoy. Our radio show and concerts introduce this great
vintage jazz music to those who may never have had the
opportunity to hear and appreciate it.

The Jim Cullum Jazz Band was formed in
1962. The group moved into The Landing, located on the
Riverwalk in San Antonio, and quickly established itself as one
of the city’s chief musical attractions. The band
is often cited as the premier classic jazz band in America.
They have toured all over the U.S., Europe, Australia, and
Latin America. Highlights of these tours include
appearances at Carnegie Hall, Wolftrap, the Kennedy Center for
the Performing Arts, Chautauqua, and virtually every leading
jazz festival in the country.
In 1990, Cullum, along with Margaret Moos
Pick, created the radio show. Riverwalk features the jazz
music of the early 20th century and the great jazz luminaries
who best extol the music. Guests have included (among
many others) Bucky and John Pizzarelli, Milt Hinton, Dick
Hyman, Harry “Sweets” Edison, Lionel Hampton, Bob
Wilber, Savior Glover, Bob Haggart, and Doc Cheatham.
For tickets and more information about
the November 14 concert, call (608) 274-1638 or visit their Web
